Emily Ertz is a singer, actress, dancer, figure skater, and Marine Corps veteran based out of New York and Los Angeles. Performing has been a huge part of her life for as long as she can remember. In fact, she was practically born on the ice and in the dance studio, starting both at the young age of two. Somewhere along the way, she discovered the joys of music and acting and never looked back. Today, her work spans film, theater, musical theater, opera, voiceover, and cirque-related productions.

While Emily is now a dramatic coloratura soprano, who boasts a vocal range of over 4 octaves, she was once a young soubrette starting opera training at the age of 13 under the coaching of Amanda Beagle-Bossio. Since then, she has partaken in numerous solo operatic vocal performances, including works such as Bizet’s Carmen (Habanera) and Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Les oiseaux dans la charmille). These performances, alongside Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera (Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again), resulted in numerous standing ovations.

Emily loves a good opera performance, but she’s not all frills and trills on the stage! Her work spans from sweet and endearing - Perdita in 101 Dalmatians: The Musical, Scarlett in Holiday for Toys - to villainous and dramatic - Doña Escarabajo Bruja in El Maleficio de la Mariposa, Flotsam in The Little Mermaid - to absolutely hilarious - Essie in You Can’t Take It With You!, Teacher in Peter and the Starcatcher.

Unlike musical theater, Emily’s film presence tends to portray a whole other side of her acting capabilities: the creepy and macabre. While she can perform any type of role (such as the high school mean girl, Sienna Meyers in Finding Distance), her unique flexibility, combat/stunt training, and unwavering stamina make her the perfect fit for a good horror film! Add in some cirque, such as aerial acrobatics and contortion, and she’ll take the role to new heights (literally)!

Emily also loves performing on a different type of stage, one that’s frozen, to be exact! Emily continues to perform across the country in figure skating, a sport in which she has been competing in since the age of four. She has competed both regionally and nationally for women’s singles and ice dance. In fact, alongside her skating (and actual) partner, Logan Myers, she was able to make international history as the first ever dual-active-duty military competitive ice dancing team. They were even able to take home a 1st place win at their first competition of the season! Besides competing, the pair loves to participate in Theater on Ice, where they recently did a production of Toy Story!

Outside of performing, Emily loves teaching. She is a U.S.F.S.A.-certified figure skating instructor , who teaches all levels and ages. She also specializes in coaching Special Olympics/ Paralympics students, making ice time fun and inclusive. Emily is also certified to instruct rhythmic gymnastics and dance, where she mainly worked with students of younger ages, but is capable of instructing all. She is also a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, trained as a Radio Operator and Combat Marksmanship Coach. Her military journey didn’t end there, as she graduated from American Military University with an A.S. in Explosive Ordnance Disposal and a B.A. in Intelligence. She wishes to continue her education by getting a Master’s in Vocal Performance and Teaching.
